- Supporting the new zoning as identified in the town's Comprehensive Plan
- Actively promoting Claverack for businesses
- Identifying barriers, and resolving them
- Asking current businesses how to support their growth
- Taking advantage of the location of the County Commerce Park in Claverack
- Engaging county, state, or federal grant and other supportive programs
- Creating an economic strategic plan
In general, there needs to be more open process, more communication and a better use of technology for the Town of Claverack to be more effective and efficient.
- Actively use the town's website (and keep it updated)
- Have regular workshop meetings for more informal public input
- Create a Philmont Liaison role to encourage and facilitate town-village communication
- Report regularly on county issues at town board meetings and other forums
- Use current technology to engage more of the community
- Post meeting notes immediately, even if in draft form
